Generally the word "method" in relation to movies has to do with acting. But legendary producer T Bone Burnett, one of the Coen Brothers' favorite musical collaborators, put himself right into a character's head. Burnett seemed to hold attendees in the palm of his hand as he held court about a great number of things, offering strong opinions along the way. It all started for him when he became frustrated by the the obvious fakery happening in old school movies.

BICYCLE MUSIC ACQUIRES WIND-UP RECORDS' BACK CATALOG, CUTS DEAL WITH CONCORD MUSIC GROUP (EXCLUSIVE)

Bicycle Music has acquired Wind-Up Records’ back catalog, which includes the master recordings of 1,600 songs including albums by Creed, Evanescence, Seether and Alter Bridge. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Laurie Anderson, the musician, performance artist and widow of Lou Reed, wrote a letter addressing the seminal musician's death in Long Island, New York newspaper East Hampton Star. The local weekly serves the South Fork of Long Island from Montauk to Southampton Village.

HANS ZIMMER ADDS JOHNNY MARR, DAVE STEWART AND INCUBUS’ MIKE EINZIGER TO 'SPIDER-MAN' TEAM

Hans Zimmer has again partnered with guitarists Johnny Marr, Dave Stewart and Incubus’ Michael Einziger to score “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Pharrell Williams will also work on the score of the Sony Pictures film that will be released May 2.

KANYE WEST TOUR DATES POSTPONED AFTER TRUCK ACCIDENT DAMAGES SHOW'S 60-FOOT LED SCREEN

Kanye West is postponing the rest of his "Yeezus" tour after a 60-foot LED screen used during his shows was damaged. A rep said in a statement Thursday that it would be "impossible" to put on a show until the screen is repaired.

In a “crowdsourced” interview conducted on Reddit yesterday -- called AMAs, or Ask Me Anythings -- Matthew Adell, CEO of dance music retailer and news destination Beatport answered a wide range of questions, many directed at the surprisingly retro download rules his company abides by, some at the perceived valuation bubble surrounding EDM and all delivered in the typically frank tone of Reddit.

BITTORRENT'S MUSIC INDUSTRY TEAM-UP

Many people in the music industry are leery of BitTorrent because it’s where outlaw companies and individuals notoriously circulate pirated albums and movies. BitTorrent is striving to change its image, though. In May it launched a service called BitTorrent Bundle, which enables musicians, filmmakers, and authors to release much larger amounts of their work digitally than they could in a single download on Amazon.com (AMZN) or in Apple’s (AAPL) iTunes Store.

MERGE RECORDS TO MARK 25 YEARS WITH SINGLES SERIES

The indie record label that has at one time or another served as home to Arcade Fire, Teenage Fanclub, Superchunk and more will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2014 with a "year-long celebration," according to its website. Chief among those is a subscription-based series of seven-inches, dubbed "Or Thousands of Prizes.”
