HARRY BELAFONTE SUES MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. ESTATE

Harry Belafonte sued the estate of Martin Luther King Jr. Tuesday over the fate of three documents he tried to sell at auction. The lawsuit in federal court in Manhattan seeks unspecified damages and a court declaration Belafonte is the rightful owner.

COUNTRY SONGWRITERS FIND THE FAST TRACK TO RADIO IN TECHNOLOGY

Programmed sounds from the original writers' demos have made their way into such hits as Keith Urban's "Little Bit of Everything," Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here" and Eric Church's "Springsteen." And Music Row's writers have begun to write frequently to tracks, building melodies and/or words on top of pre-existing rhythms and chords, instead of using the words or the melodies as the original inspiration.

TOM WAITS & SINEAD O'CONNOR SIGN UP FOR KICKSTARTER BLUES ALBUM

Tom Waits, Sinead O'Connor and Lucinda Williams have signed on to record tracks for a new Blind Willie Johnson tribute album - if fans fund the project online. The Blind Boys of Alabama and Rickie Lee Jones have also agreed to perform a Johnson cover for the album following the launch of a Kickstarter.com crowdsourcing campaign on Tuesday.
