Sony's board of directors voted unanimously to reject the notion that it should spin off its entertainment business, and it sent a letter Monday explaining its position to Third Point, the investment vehicle of Daniel Loeb.

The singer also canceled concerts Tuesday in Minneapolis and Saturday in San Diego. He is also scheduled to perform Friday at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco. Concerts last week in New York and Maryland were canceled due to illness.
