Rage Against The Machine, The Smashing Pumpkins and Dr. John are among
the more than 110 acts confirmed for the 2007 VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE,
which expands this year to three days to accommodate the number of
artists who comprise the diverse talent line-up.
Set for Halloween weekend in City Park, New Orleans’ signature fall
music event encompasses three full days of music--October 26, 27 and
28--with performances from Wilco, Tiesto in Concert, Kings of Leon,
Sinead O’Connor, Common, Ben Harper and Galactic, among others (full
list below). These acts will appear in the VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE’s
three distinct performance areas--Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le
Carnival--each of which highlights a unique side of the personality of
New Orleans.
For its ninth consecutive year--and despite 2005’s devastation to the
region--the VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE will again take place in City Park
set amidst lush lagoons, bayous, one of the largest collections of
mature oak trees in the world, all in the shadow of the New Orleans
Museum of Art and just minutes from the historic French Quarter and
Central Business District. The VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE is known for its
wide-ranging line-up of talent that each year reflects the multitude of
cultures that define this historic and beloved American city.
"We are pleased that the 2007 Voodoo Music Experience is expanding to
three days," said C. Ray Nagin, Mayor of New Orleans. "This powerful
statement of confidence in New Orleans' recovery is a further sign that
music and culture define who we are and will play a pivotal role in
rebuilding our great city."

At last year’s VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE--headlined by the Red Hot Chili
Peppers who collaborated with New Orleans' own Original Meters--nearly
100,000 people gathered to worship the music "at this contemporary
festival that simultaneously celebrates New Orleans' legacy" (The Times
Picayune, 10/31/06). As Rolling Stone (11/30/06) magazine noted,
"Surrounded by oaks, magnolias and lagoons, concertgoers (many in
Halloween costumes) celebrated with dozens of bands on four stages..."
