Based out of Brooklyn and Philadelphia, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah were formed by members Alec Ounsworth, Lee Sargent, Robbie Guertin, Tyler Sargent, and Sean Greenhalgh. Their debut album, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, was self-released in 2005. Rolling Stone Magazine named the band as the "Hot New Band" of 2005 which led to a contract with Wichita Recordings in the UK. The band released their second album, Some Loud Thunder in January 2007.
