Started in 2002, concert promoter Adam Zacks created Sasquatch! to add a robust festival to the options of music fans in the Pacific Northwest. The Gorge Amphitheater, known for it's amazing views especially during sunset, is a 20,000-seat outdoor amphitheater near the Columbia River gorge. The Flaming Lips will bring their "U.F.O. show," complete with faux flying saucer. The Mars Volta, Flight of the Conchords, the National and Cold War Kids are also among the many bands playing.

This year marks the seventh annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Set on 100 acres of a 700 acre farm about 60 miles south of Nashville, the four-day event brings a diverse set of over 100 artists - representing everything from rock and hip-hop to jazz, reggae, world music and comedy -- to 13 stages. While rumors of a Led Zeppelin Bonnaroo gig didn't come to fruition, Zep fans can check out Robert Plant performing with Alison Krauss or all-female cover band Lez Zeppelin. Additional bands on the bill include Sigur Ros, B.B. King, Phil Lesh & Friends, Iron & Wine, Lupe Fiasco, Widespread Panic and Orchestra Baobab.

This brand new four-day rock fest, put together by AEG Live and Madison House Presents, takes place over Independence Day weekend about three hours from Detroit. Set at Double JJ Ranch, a resort that includes a waterpark and golf course, the weekend will include dozens of bands from DMB and Snoop to Gomez, Of Montreal, Colbie Caillat, the Black Keys and Jakob Dylan.

Rocklahoma started in 2007 as an annual festival for 80's rock music fans. Set on a 400-acre farm in Pryor Creek, OK with a 130-foot permanent stage, hair metal is set to reign again this year with Bret Michaels, LA Guns, Triumph, Warrant and Cinderella on the bill. Night Ranger, Tesla, Trixter, Kix, and assorted other bands fond of the letter X are also playing.

After seven years as a touring fest of the 1990s, Lollapalooza returned in 2003 as a traditional weekend-long festival. Taking over a 319-acre lakeside green space in the heart of downtown Chicago again this year, Lollapalooza 2008 finds 1993 headliners Rage Against the Machine back on the bill alongside 1991 mainstagers Nine Inch Nails. Lollapaloozavets Kanye West and fest founder Perry Farrell are also playing.

Put on by Goldenvoice/AEG Live Events, the same company who does Coachella, All Points West was created this year on the heels of "Coachella East" whispers. In a park that runs along the Hudson River and faces the Manhattan skyline, Radiohead headlines the first and second night, while Johnson handles the third. Rodrigo y Gabriela, Youssou N'Dour, Animal Collective, Andrew Bird, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Metric, CSS, Chromeo, and the Go! Team are among the many others on the bill.

A spin off of the V Festival in the UK, The Virgin Mobile Festival has played in Baltimore, MD every summer since 2006. As well as its U.S. date, the festival travels to two different Canadian locations under the name The Virgin Festival. Bands play at the racetrack famous for hosting the Preakness Stakes. Foo Fighters, Kanye West, and Jack Johnson are just a few of the headliners, but look for sets from Paramore, Swell Season, Lil Wayne, Moby, Iggy and the Stooges, and Offspring among the many others playing.

Originally beginning as The Seattle Arts Festival in 1971, Bumbershoot consists of a variety of art, including music, film, comedy, theater, spoken word, dance, visual, performance, and literary arts. The festival takes place at the Seattle Center, a 74-acre park with over 20 indoor/outdoor venues and independent vendors located throughout the area.

Closely related to the PBS Television series of the same name, Austin City Limits Music Festival takes over Ziker Park in the middle of downtown Austin for three days and eight stages of music that includes, along with the aforementioned Foo Fighters, Gnarls Barkley and The Black Keys, sets by Conor Oberst, Band of Horses, David Byrne, Mars Volta, and tons of others.
