New Divide

Linkin Park returns with its first new material in two years, contributing the theme song to Michael Bay's film "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." Of course the band is no stranger to the franchise—it scored a top 10 smash with "What I've Done," which was featured in the first "Transformers." "New Divide" fits the sci-fi genre: spacious, moody and futuristic. Lead vocalist Chester Bennington gives one of his more straightforward vocal performances, deftly balancing his usual rock edge with a more melody-focused pop vocal. It's a welcome return that should satisfy the band's fan base and bring in some new fans as well. —Chris Williams
