Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart made a historic appearance together--their first in over 25 years--in Los Angeles, California Tuesday night (April 21). In front of a thrilled crowd at the El Rey Theatre, Stewart reunited with his former bandmate and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee onstage to sing their early ‘80s collaboration, “People Get Ready,” and The Jeff Beck Group’s 1968 recording, “I Ain’t Superstitious.
The surprise moment came at the close of Beck’s sold-out show at the El Rey, his first of a two-night engagement. Beck and Stewart’s first collaboration came on the Jeff Beck Group’s classic 1967 album “Truth,” for which Stewart provided the lead vocals, and the pair briefly teamed up again in 1985 to record “People Get Ready,” a Curtis Mayfield cover.
