Tori Amos has signed a new deal with Universal Republic, and is
eyeing a late spring/early summer 2009 release for her tenth
album.
The artist recorded with Atlantic from 1992 to 2001, after which
she signed with Epic. That deal, which yielded three studio albums,
ended this summer.
As first reported here, Amos' new album will be a blend of music
and corresponding visuals shot on HD and Super 8 over the course of
the past year. The project "is indicative of the outlier creative
and strategic opportunities both Tori and Universal Republic hope
to build upon in this extraordinary relationship," says manager
John Witherspoon.
Amos is also writing a musical for the British National Theater,
"The Light Princess," and in July unveiled a graphic novel, "Comic
Book Tattoo," based on her catalog.
