The Raveonettes Unveil Album Release And Tour Dates

Danish rock duo The Raveonettes has announced the dates for a fall tour in support of its fourth studio album, Billboard.com can exclusively report. The 19-date jaunt is set to kick off Oct. 14 at New York's Webster Hall and close out Nov. 15 in Las Vegas. Entitled "In and Out of Control," The Raveonettes' album is slated for an Oct. 6 release on Vice.

After holing up in their native Denmark this spring to lay down new material, members Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo are now reflecting on the final product. "I still feel like I'm just emerging from the six intense weeks in the studio in Copenhagen and still digesting what this album is really all about," Foo tells Billboard.com. "But I know it's a strong album that feels very complete.

Back in June, The Raveonettes started using its Twitter profile to let fans directly into the recording process, posting links to unfinished demos of songs and inviting feedback. The three demos that have been leaked so far -- "Last Dance," "Boys Who Rape, and "In and Out of Control" -- reveal a similarly fuzzy, retro vibe to the band's 2008 album, "Lust Lust Lust."

"What strikes me is that more so than ever before the mood of the music and the subject of the lyrics are in extreme conflict with one another," says Foo. "Our past records have tended to sound like different perspectives of one controlling emotion, both sonically and thematically, almost like a drone. But this record is very much a collection of songs which each has their own individual emotion, energy and personality."

Though the new album takes its name from one of the demos, The Raveonettes revealed on Twitter this week that "In and Out of Control" will only appear as a B-side. Fans can download all three tracks and watch videos of the Copenhagen studio sessions by registering at The Raveonettes' page on the Vice Records Web site.

The Raveonettes are lined up for two festival shows before its fall tour -- Lollapalooza on Aug. 9 and Austin City Limits on Oct. 3.
