Grammy-winning duo Sugarland will embark on their first European tour in March, traveling to seven countries for gigs in 11 different European cities. The dates are a mix of appearances at U.S. military installations and theater shows. Mercury Nashville labelmate Holly Williams will open in London and Glasgow.

Before heading overseas, Sugarland will play a pair of dates at Athens, Ga.'s 40 Watt Club in
on Feb 26-27. When they return from Europe, the group is slated to perform at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on May 1. The next day, Sugarland will begin a 19-date stint on Keith Urban's North American tour as part of a rotating crew of supporting acts. More Sugarland dates will be announced in the future.

As previously reported, Sugarland has begun writing new material, and so far, the sound is a bit different than what fans have come to expect from the country duo. "We've written like six songs and none of them are country songs yet," said guitarist Kristian Bush. "It's growing, baby! It's growing. It's so good," singer Jennifer Nettles told Billboard.com.
