Simple Minds

Veteran Scottish rock act Simple Minds has put the finishing touches on its next album, "Graffiti Soul," due May 25 from Universal.

"Stylistically, this is a truly vibrant rock'n'roll album that's bursting at the seams with quite possibly the most ballsy pop songs we have written in years," says frontman Jim Kerr of the follow-up to 2005's "Black & White 050505."

The new album follows a 30th anniversary tour last year that included a set at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party in London and complete performances of its classic album "New Gold Dream."

A tour in support of "Graffiti Soul" is in the works.
