The thirteen tracks on "Far" pair Spektor with four different producers: Jeff Lynne (ELO, The Traveling Wilburys), Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem), David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes) and Garret "Jacknife" Lee (Weezer, REM).
In a recent Pitchfork interview, Spektor revealed that heading into "Far," there wasn’t any overarching plans in working with a host of different producers with varying backgrounds. "Matching producers with songs was done kind of thoughtlessly," she said. "it wasn't like I was sitting there thinking,'Well, this person would make more sense with this song.' I didn't do research or anything like that. It's almost like throwing stuff on the floor and seeing how it lands, you know?"
Coinciding with the release of "Far," Spektor will launch a worldwide tour. So far she is confirmed for Belgium’s Rock Werchter Festival on July 4. The first single is entitled "Laughing With."
