Chaka Khan
-- Chaka Khan is stepping in for Natalie Cole at the 17th annual Capital Jazz Fest (June 5-7) at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. Cole is recuperating from recent kidney transplant surgery. Khan joins a lineup that includes Lalah Hathaway, Roy Ayers, Will Downing and the reunited En Vogue.
-- Billing themselves as Slaughterhouse, rappers Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9", Joe Budden and Crooked I will release their first album as a group on July 7. The E1 Music project features production by the Alchemist, Streetrunner, DJ Khalil and Denaun Porter. Slaughterhouse will also perform on this summer's Rock the Bells tour.
