Latin/funk/hip-hop fusionists Ozomatli have signed with Mercer Street, the new imprint on ADA-distributed Downtown Music. The label group is home to such artists as Gnarls Barkley, the Cold War Kids and Eagles of Death Metal.

The Los Angeles-based band is recording an album for fall release, with a spring tour starting Mar. 6 consisting of 26 dates in the United States and Canada. All shows will feature the group’s original rapper Chali2na.

Ozomatli will also perform in Rangoon, Myanmar, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and Vladivostok, Russia, as cultural ambassadors with the U.S. State Department in May.

Ozomatli's last album, "Don't Mess With the Dragon," was released in 2007 by Concord Music Group, and sold 50,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.
