Grizzly Bear

Grizzly Bear has set a May 26 release date for its third album, "Veckatimest," one of the more anticipated indie rock releases of 2009.

The 12-song set was taped at Allaire Studios in upstate New York, Cape Cod, Mass., and in a New York church. The Warp album includes vocals from Beach House's Victoria Legrand and string arrangements and vocal contributions from Nico Muhly.

"Generally, each recording space had its strengths, and we tended to use each of those strengths," guitarist Ed Droste tells Billboard.com. "Our voices sounded better in the church because of the natural reverb, and we really liked the microphones we were using at [Allaire] last summer."

Because Grizzly Bear had a hectic 2008, including opening for Radiohead lastsummer, the recording of "Veckatimest" was spread out over a longer duration compared to 2006's "Yellow House."

"Various things came and would jump in the way and prevent us from doing it straight through," Droste explains. "But I think in many ways, that was beneficial. We all work best we can step away from it for a couple weeks and come back to it with fresh ears. We definitely took our time, because we wanted to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it."

Grizzly Bear is plotting a spring tour with details to be announced, but will play two shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music at the end of the month. The band will also visit the Sasquatch! and Bonnaroo festivals this spring and summer.

Here is the track list for "Veckatimest":

"Southern Point"
"Two Weeks"
"All We Ask"
"Fine For Now"
"Cheerleader"
"Dory"
"Ready, Able"
"About Face"
"Hold Still"
"While You Wait For The Others"
"I Live With You"
"Foreground"
