Analog mixing boards, a player piano and a trip out west all factor into indie phenom Dan Decon's new album, "Bromst."

The 11-song set is due March 24 via Carpark and was partially recorded and mixed at Snow Ghost Studios in Whitefish, Mont. Much of the material was culled from what Deacon describes as "30 to 40" songs, with the material written over the course of the last three years, dating back to when he started writing 2007's "Spiderman of the Rings."

"For this record, I wanted to give it some justice and have the live instruments ring out, and mix them, tweak them in a proper analog setting. That's why we went out to Snow Ghost," Deacon tells Billboard.com.

Deacon originally thought that "Bromst" would be released in October, but things changed once he arrived in Montana. "It was the first time I had mixed an album on an analog board, so we separated the computer and electronic tracks individually, and we broke it up into its raw parts there. I spent about three weeks out there recording the player piano and mixing it down."

"I can't mix five songs in a day anymore. We should probably spend a few days on each song," he adds with a laugh.

Without sacrificing the energy of "Spiderman of the Rings," Deacon dips into a more drawn-out, mellow vibe on a few of the new songs. "That album was very carefree and youthful -- sort of partying for the sake of partying," he explains. "This record is less about a party and more about a celebration.

"A lot of the album is about cycles and change; I felt like being out there in Montana and up in the mountains ... I don't know; it just felt perfect," he adds.

Well-known for his rambunctious live shows, Deacon says he'll utilize a 15-piece live band for upcoming tours, beginning Thursday (Dec. 11) in Brooklyn.

Here is the track list for "Bromst":

"Build Voice"
"Red F"
"Paddling Ghost"
"Snookered"
"Of The Mountains"
"Surprise Stefani"
"Wet Wings"
"Woof Woof"
"Slow With Horns/Run For Your Life"
"Baltihorse"
"Get Older"
