Coldplay's Summer Tour Dates Revealed

by David J. Prince, N.Y.  |   March 17, 2009 9:26 EDT
Coldplay have announced the full schedule for its North American summer tour, an extended run that starts May 15 in West Palm Beach, Fla. and ends up back in Tampa, Fla. on August 6.

The band has been touring throughout Japan, the U.K. and Australia, where the group played an unusual daytime set in Sydney as part of the Sound Relief charity concert that raised more than $3 million for victims of that country's brushfires.

The North Amercan tour will be the first for Coldplay since taking home three awards at this year's Grammys, including song of the year for "Viva La Vida."

Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Parlophone/EMI) was the biggest global seller of 2008, according to the IFPI, with sales of 6.8 million.
