New Springsteen Tune Getting NFL Premiere

Comments

A new Bruce Springsteen song, "Workin' on a Dream," will premiere Nov. 16 on NBC's Sunday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. The track will be set to a package of highlights during the halftime segment.

"Workin' on a Dream" will appear on Springsteen's next album, which will be released in late January via Columbia, according to Backstreets.com. The song was first played acoustically by Springsteen during a Barack Obama rally in Columbus, Ohio.

No other information about the project has been released. It will be the follow-up to 2007's "Magic," which has sold 1.03 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The upcoming premiere extends Springsteen's relationship with the NFL; he and the E Street Band are already confirmed to perform during the Super Bowl XLIII halftime show on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla.
