Lineup Set For 2008 Bridge School Benefit

Comments

The lineup has been unveiled for the 2008 Bridge School Benefit concert, to be held Oct. 25-26 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. School co-founder Neil Young anchors a bill that also features Wilco, Jack Johnson, Cat Power and Death Cab For Cutie.

Day one boasts performances from those artists plus Norah Jones. ZZ Top and Sarah McLachlan perform only on day one, while Smashing Pumpkins and Josh Groban perform only on day two.

Young, who hosts the annual, mostly-acoustic event, has played every year since launching the benefit in 1986. Proceeds from the shows support the Bridge School's work with children with severe physical and speech impediments.

This year's show comes in the middle of Young's fall North American tour, with support from Death Cab For Cutie on the first leg and Wilco on the second. Yesterday (Sept. 20), he performed at his annual Farm Aid benefit outside Boston.
