Bob Mould Pens Autobiography, Wraps New CD

Comments

Alt-rock figurehead Bob Mould has signed a deal with Little, Brown and Company to write his autobiography, which will be released in the fall of 2010. Mould will collaborate with rock journalist Michael Azerrad on the as-yet-untitled tome.

In it, Mould will chronicle the rise and fall of his legendary Minneapolis band Husker Du, his subsequent work with Sugar and as a solo artist and coming to terms with his sexuality.

"I have always looked forward to this point in time, where I could tell my stories, to answer the many questions about the music and the lifestyle, and how they inform the creative process," Mould says.

In addition, Mould has finished his next solo album, which will be released in March 2009 by Anti-. The follow-up to this year's "District Line" is "a guitar album," he writes on his blog, adding that he will tour with a full band in support of it next spring.

Mould has two shows on tap next week: Sept. 19 in Madison, Wis., as part of Forward Fest, and Sept. 21 in Monticello, N.Y., as part of the My Bloody Valentine-curated All Tomorrow's Parties festival.
