Dr. Dre's Son, 20, Found Dead

Comments

Andre Young Jr., the son of rapper/producer Dr. Dre, was found dead in his Woodland Hills, Calif., home on Saturday (Aug. 23), according to Dr. Dre's representative. He was 20 years old.

An unresponsive Young was discovered in his bed by his mother on Saturday at around 10:30 A.M. Paramedics were called to the scene, but Young was pronounced dead after their efforts to revive him. His mother told police he'd been out the night before, but returned home Saturday at around 5:30 A.M.

A cause of death has not been announced, pending completion of toxicology tests which could take four to six weeks.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Dr. Dre said he "is mourning the loss of his son. Please respect his family's grief and privacy at this time."
