'American Idol' Sets Auditions For New Season

Auditions for the eighth season of "American Idol" will begin July 17 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.

The other audition cities are: Louisville, Ky. on July 21; Phoenix on July 25; Salt Lake City on July 29; San Juan, Puerto Rico on Aug. 2; Kansas City, Mo. on Aug. 8; Jacksonville, Fla. on Aug. 13 and East Rutherford, N.J. on Aug. 19.

Auditions are open to men and women 16-28 years of age who are eligible to work in the U.S.

The eighth season of "American Idol" will premiere on Fox in January 2009.
