Barenaked Ladies, They Might Be Giants, Ralph's World, Imagination Movers, Dan Zanes and Choo Choo Soul, among others, will perform in select cities as part of the Disney Music Block Party tour, set to begin July 25 in Toms River, N.J.
The 23-date North American trek will play multiple nights in Toms River (July 25-27); Columbia, Md. (July 29-30); Philadelphia (Aug. 1-3); Hartford, Conn. (Aug. 5-6); Chicago (Aug. 8-10); Columbus, Ohio (Aug. 12-13); Toronto (Aug. 15-17); Detroit (Aug. 19-20); and Long Island, N.Y. (Aug. 22-24). Tickets go on sale May 30 via Ticketmaster and disneymusicblockpartytour.com.
Artist lineups will vary by each market. Actress/singer Raven-Symone has been tapped as the tour's special guest host, and Barenaked Ladies will perform Aug. 22-23 at the Nassau Coliseum Parking Lot in Long Island. Further information will be announced shortly via the tour's Web site.
Disney Music Block Party, which is produced by AEG Live and Buena Vista Concerts, will feature a festival-like atmosphere. Tour sponsor Playskool will host an area where young concertgoers can test the company's newest toys, while the nonprofit NAMM Foundation will provide musical instruments for children to play.
Disney, meanwhile, will provide a tent with Playhouse Disney programming, games and other activities.
