Sexsmith Plots His 'Exit Strategy'

Comments

Canadian singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith will release his tenth album, "Exit Strategy of the Soul," on July 8 via Yep Roc. The 14-track set was produced by Martin Terefe, who also helmed the decks for 2005's "Retriever" and 2002's "Cobblestone Runway."

The album features a horn section on almost every song, plus Sexsmith's solo version of "Brandy Alexander," a song he co-wrote with Feist which appeared on her 2007 record "The Reminder." "Exit" is Sexsmith's first effort for Yep Roc; his last album, 2006's "Time Being," was released by Ironworks Music.

Sexsmith took to the road with Nick Lowe starting last night (April 15) in Boulder, Colo., and will finish up this short tour on April 27, sans Lowe, in Pittsburgh.

Here are Ron Sexmith's tour dates:

April 17: Dallas (Sons Of Hermann Hall)
April 18: Austin, Texas (Antone's w/ Ron Sexsmith)
April 21: Nashville (The Belcourt Theatre)
April 22: Atlanta (Variety Playhouse)
April 23: Carrboro, N.C. (The Arts Center)
April 25: Charlottesville, Va. (Satellite Ballroom)
April 26: Annapolis, Md. (Rams Head On Stage)
April 27: Pittsburgh (Byham Theater)
