DMB, Ticketmaster Pact For Free Digital Album

Comments

The Dave Matthews Band and Ticketmaster have teamed up to offer concertgoers an exclusive digital album comprising material from the rock troupe's upcoming 40-city North American summer tour.

Fans who purchase tickets through Ticketmaster during the trek's March 29 general on-sale will receive a unique barcode in mid-September that can be redeemed for the digital album on iTunes. The album will go on sale to the general public a month later. The offer is only valid for venues ticketed by Ticketmaster.

Members of the Dave Matthews Band fan club who already purchased tickets during the March 6 pre-sale will also receive a bar code that gives access to the free digital album via iTunes.

The program is similar in concept to previous Ticketmaster initiatives with acts like Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, Maroon 5 and Daddy Yankee.

The Dave Matthews Band's three-month summer tour will begin May 30-31 outside Pittsburgh, and will feature material from its next studio album, produced by Rob Cavallo. The act hasn't released a new studio set since 2005's "Stand Up," which bowed at the summit of The Billboard 200.

The summer trek is scheduled to wrap Sept. 7 with a three-night stand at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif. Opening acts include Willie Nelson, the Black Crowes, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, O.A.R., Michael Franti and Spearhead, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Paolo Nutini, Gomez and Ingrid Michaelson.
