McLachlan Rounds Up Rarities For Spring Release

Comments

Duets with artists like Bryan Adams, Cyndi Lauper and Emmylou Harris will be found on a forthcoming release from Sarah McLachlan, "Rarities, B-Sides and Other Stuff, Volume 2." The collection hits shelves April 29 via Arista; the first compilation of "Stuff" was released in 1996.

"Volume 2" includes popular covers like "The Rainbow Connection," "Blackbird," "River" and "Unchained Melody." She sings live with Harris on "Angel," with the Perishers on "Pills," Adams on "Don't Let Go" and Lauper on "Time After Time." DJ Tiesto also contributes a remix of "Silence."

The Canadian singer/songwriter's last studio set was the 2006 holiday album "Wintersong," which peaked at No. 7 on The Billboard 200. Her last album of original material is 2003's "Afterglow."

"Basically, I've been through it every single time," she told Billboard in 2006 of the long gap between albums. "It always happens, and it does seem to get a little worse the older I get. I have to really focus and spend good chunks of time doing it, and that becomes harder and harder the older I get."
