Lauper, B-52s Anchoring True Colors Tour

Comments

Cyndi Lauper and the B-52s will anchor this summer's True Colors tour, which will begin May 31 at Boston's Bank of America Pavilion. TV personality Carson Kressley will host the shows, which will also feature appearances by Rosie O'Donnell, the Indigo Girls, Joan Jett and Regina Spektor.

The 24-date trek, dates for which are still coming together, is sponsored by Logo. Organizers plan to stress the need to vote in the fall presidential election and will also be raising funds for gay, lesbian and transgendered advocacy groups through the True Colors Fund of Stonewall Community Foundation.

"Let's celebrate and have fun this summer while we spread the word to get out the vote and all become a part of the changes in this country," says Lauper, who created the tour.

Throughout the run, acts such as Joan Armatrading, Tegan & Sara, Wanda Sykes, Nona Hendryx, Deborah Cox and the Cliks will also make appearances. Tickets begin going on sale March 15.
