Chesney Ramps Up Stadium Dates For '08 Tour

Comments

Kenny Chesney will play 14 stadiums this summer on his 2008 Poets & Pirates tour, the most yet for country's top touring artist.

Chesney grossed more than $71 million in 2007, most among country acts and fourth among all touring artists, according to Billboard Boxscore. His attendance of 1.4 million marks the fifth consecutive year that Chesney has topped one million tickets sold, a first for a country act.

The first stadium on Chensey's route is Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C., on April 26. Also on tap are stadiums in Dallas (May 3), Baltimore (10), Cleveland (24), Phoenix (31), San Francisco (June 8), Pittsburgh (14), Chicago (21), Nashville (July 5), Atlanta (13), Philadelphia (19), Foxboro, Mass. (26), Detroit (Aug. 2) and Indianapolis (Sept. 13). More may be announced later.

Keith Urban will support on many dates; other opening acts include Brooks & Dunn, Sammy Hagar, Big & Rich, Luke Bryan, LeAnn Rimes and Gary Allan.
