Crowes, Black Keys, Bun B Set For SXSW

The Black Crowes, the Black Keys, UGK rapper Bun and R.E.M. are among the names newly confirmed to appear at the 2008 South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. They join previously announced performers such as My Morning Jacket, the Breeders, Daniel Lanois and the Kills.

Also new to the performance roster for the March 12-16 event are Blitzen Trapper, MGMT, My Brightest Diamond, the Raveonettes, Devotchka, Lindstrom, Vampire Weekend, Foreign Born, Robyn, Fleet Foxes and the Von Bondies.

The Black Keys will begin their spring tour at SXSW, in support of their Danger Mouse-produced Nonesuch album, "Attack & Release." The 11-track set features a guest appearances by guitarist Marc Ribot.

As previously reported, Lou Reed will keynote this year's SXSW, and Thurston Moore, Steve Reich, Daryl Hall and executive Seymour Stein will also be featured in conversation throughout the event.
