Singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson won the admiration and envy of countless MySpacers in 2007 when her career moved straight from a Web page to placements on "Grey's Anatomy" and an Old Navy commercial.

Significant sales for her self-released album "Girls & Boys," a heavy tour schedule and an appearance on "Last Call With Carson Daly" have followed, and Michaelson expects to be on the road throughout 2008.

"I've gotten all this attention the new way -- through TV," the New York-based artist tells Billboard.com. "Now I'm trying to build on that amazing foundation the old way, through touring and radio."

Michaelson has already cracked the Billboard 200 and is the first unsigned artist to be featured on VH1's "You Oughta Know," so, the question lingers: has success changed her?

"It seems like things should be really crazy right now, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to change my life," she says. "I don't know what's supposed to happen when you start doing well. I live at home and I drive a sh*tty car, but now I have a bank account."

"My manager asked me what I was going to spend money on and the answer is that I just met with a financial advisor to set up a retirement fund," she continues. "I'm not the sort of musician who wants to live foolishly and spend money on cars and drugs and strippers. I don't really have enough bad habits to be a rock star. My bad habits are pretty lame. I have one gin and tonic and I fall asleep."
