Garth Brooks Sells Out Five L.A. Shows

Comments

Garth Brooks' previously announced one-off wildfire benefit concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles quickly became five sold-out shows after organizers saw an overwhelming demand for tickets during the Dec. 1 on-sale.

Brooks will play five concerts at the 20,000-seat arena between Jan. 25-26. The first day will find the country singer performing at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. On Jan. 26, he will play three shows at 1 p.m., 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Special as-yet-unannounced guests are expected to appear. It is unknown if Brooks will perform additional dates in the L.A. market.

The Dec. 1 on-sale moved more than 85,000 tickets in less than an hour, according to a statement from Staples Center. After the initial Jan. 26 concert sold out, AEG and Brooks' camp decided to roll out additional performances.

With only four hours between each concert, officials at Staples Center and AEG are currently making preparations for how each night will play out, an AEG spokesperson tells Billboard.com.

Tickets for each show were priced at about $40 (plus service fees), with all proceeds going to the fire victims of the October blazes in Southern California. The L.A. shows came together after California officials asked Brooks to help raise funds, according to a representative for the artist.

Last month Brooks performed nine sold-out concerts at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. The artist moved nearly 160,000 tickets in less than two hours via ticket outlets, online and telephone sales.
