Lavigne Books Spring North American Tour

Comments

Avril Lavigne will hit the road next spring in North America in support of her most recent RCA album, "Best Damn Thing." The trek, announced yesterday (Nov. 6) during a media event at Los Angeles' Whisky A-Go-Go, will feature opening acts Boys Like Girls.

Dates begin March 5 in Victoria, British Columbia, and run through May 9 in Spokane, Wash., with more to be added. Tickets go on sale Nov. 17.

"Before, my show has always been me and four guys," Lavigne told Billboard in March. "That's what I wanted at that point in my career. But now? F*ck it." Indeed, this time around, the artist will be backed by an expanded band as well as dancers.

"Best Damn Thing" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
