Soulja Boy Fends Off Chris Brown Atop Hot 100

Comments

Soulja Boy's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" makes it a lucky seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but new competition comes from Chris Brown's "Kiss Kiss," which soars 22-2 after selling 159,000 downloads in its first week of digital release. Brown's sophomore album, "Exclusive," is due Nov. 6 via Jive.

Timbaland's "Apologize" featuring OneRepublic holds at No. 3, while Alicia Keys' "No One" stays at No. 4 and is the chart's greatest airplay gainer. Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" sticks at No. 5 and is the chart's greatest digital gainer with 129,000 copies sold.

Kanye West's "Stronger" drops 2-6, while Baby Bash's "Cyclone" featuring T-Pain jumps 11-7. Another Kanye song, "Good Life" also featuring T-Pain, rises 10-8, while Rihanna's "Hate That I Love You" featuring Ne-Yo increases 15-9. Timbaland's "The Way I Are" featuring Keri Hilson slips 7-10 to round out the top tier.

The Killers score the week's top debut with a cover of Joy Division's "Shadowplay" at No. 68. The track appears on the soundtrack to the Joy Division-centric film "Control," which opened in New York last weekend.

On Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Keys' "No One" is No. 1 for a second week. Rahsaan Patterson makes his first appearance on the tally since 1999 with "Stop Breaking My Heart," the top debut at No. 68.

Kenny Chesney's "Don't Blink" leads Hot Country Songs for a second week. George Strait's "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls" climbs 11-9, becoming his 76th top 10 on the chart. The artist now trails only George Jones (78) and Eddy Arnold (92) on the list for most top 10s on Hot Country Songs.

On Billboard's rock charts, the Foo Fighters show no signs of budging with "The Pretender," which is No. 1 on Modern Rock for a tenth week and on Mainstream Rock for a fifth.
