Korn Frontman Sets Out On Solo Tour

Comments

As a follow-up to this summer's Family Values tour, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis will embark on a 24-date U.S. solo outing, starting Nov. 9 at Webster Theater in Hartford, Conn., and wrapping Dec. 11 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.

For the trek, which primarily visits theaters, Davis will perform a variety of songs from Korn's catalog, along with covers and material from 2002's "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack. Much of the set list will focus on songs Davis has rarely (or never) performed in concert.

"I have wanted to do this forever. Ever since I did the 'Queen of the Damned' and more recently the 'MTV Unplugged' I have wanted to be able to play those songs live," Davis said in a statement. "It's going to be acoustic, but still heavy and very intimate."

Davis' backing band will comprise Lilo Fadidas (guitar, bouzouki, oud), Shane Gibson (guitar), Miles Mosley (upright bass), Zac Baird (keyboards) and Michael Jochum (drums). The band was compiled by Richard Gibbs, who was the music director for Korn's "MTV Unplugged" session and Davis's scoring partner on "Queen of the Damned," according to a spokesperson.

This year's Family Values tour, which featured co-headliners Korn and Evanescence, visited 31 North American cities earlier this summer, grossing $8.5 million and drawing more than 350,000 concertgoers, according to Billboard Boxscore.
