Little other information about the new album has yet been announced beyond contributions from Sean Garrett, Rodney Jerkins and Bryan-Michael Cox, who won a Grammy Award for co-writing Blige's hit "Be Without You."
That was one of several smashes from "The Breakthrough," which has shifted 2.96 million units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
A week after "Growing Pains" arrives, Blige will be heard guesting on Wyclef Jean's new album, "Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant," which is due Dec. 4 via Columbia.
