Soulja Boy Trades Places With Kanye Atop Hot 100

Comments

Soulja Boy's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" trades places with Kanye West's "Stronger" atop the Billboard Hot 100 with a 2-1 increase, thanks to its best digital sales week yet (183,000 copies). "Crank" is also the second song this year to return to the chart's top position, following Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" in the June 2 issue.

Timbaland's "The Way I Are" featuring Keri Hilson holds at No. 3, and Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" remains at No. 4. There's not much other movement in the top 10, with J. Holiday's "Bed" rebounding 6-5, 50 Cent's "Ayo Technology" featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland falling 5-6, Keyshia Cole's "Let It Go" featuring Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim staying put at No. 7 and Nickelback's "Rockstar" holding at No. 8.

Pink's "Who Knew" remains at No. 9 and young singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" jumps 16-10. That cut also jumps into the top 5 on the Hot Digital Songs chart with a 7-5 move.

The chart's greatest digital gainer is Feist's "1, 2, 3, 4," which rockets 61-28 in its second week after selling 73,000 downloads. The song, which also jumps 21-7 on Hot Digital Songs, is currently featured in an iPod nano TV ad.

Jennifer Lopez has the Hot 100's top debut with "Do It Well" at No. 53. Also new this week is James Blunt's "1973" at No. 73 and Playaz Circle's "Duffle Bag Boy" featuring Lil Wayne at No. 91.

J. Holiday's "Bed" begins a third week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, on which Jay-Z has the year's debut by a rap single with "Blue Magic" at No. 35. The cut is the lead track from the Def Jam honcho's Nov. 6 album, "American Gangster."

On Hot Country Songs, Rascal Flatts' "Take Me There" is No. 1 for a third week. Carrie Underwood scores her fifth top 10 hit on the chart with "So Small," which climbs 11-10. Faith Hill earns Hot Shot Debut honors with "Red Umbrella," a new song from her Oct. 2 "The Hits" collection (Warner Bros.).

Juanes' "Me Enamora" starts a second week in the lead on Hot Latin Songs, while Barbara Tucker's "Love Vibrations" assumes the throne on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play tally, bumping Justin Timberlake's "LoveStoned" down to No. 4.

On Billboard's rock charts, the Foo Fighters reign supreme with "The Pretender," which is in its sixth week at No. 1 on Modern Rock and climbs 2-1 on Mainstream Rock, ending the seven-week run of Three Days Grace's "Never Too Late."
