matchbox twenty Sets 'Mainstream' Track List

Comments

As tipped here in June, six new songs will be featured on the upcoming matchbox twenty retrospective "Exile on Mainstream." Due Oct. 2 via Atlantic, the album will feature the new cuts "How Far We've Come," "I'll Believe You When," "All Your Reasons," "These Hard Times," "If I Fall" and "I Can't Let You Go" on one disc and 11 past hits on another.

"This is different than any record we've made, and different than my solo record," frontman Rob Thomas previously told Billboard.com about the Steve Lillywhite-produced sessions. "We got together for a week at my house and we all had song ideas, but they didn't sound like what we wanted to play together. Between that vibe and working with Steve, it's a much more raw, energetic, live-sounding record than we've done in the past."

The MVI portion of "Exile" will feature new interviews with the band and a making-of look at the video for "How Far We've Come," which is gaining momentum on Billboard's Top 40 charts.

The band will play live for a handful of TV and concert appearances this fall, beginning Sept. 29 at the WBMX Boston Mixfest. Also on tap are visits to "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" (Oct. 4), "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Oct. 5), the "Today" outdoor concert series and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (both Oct. 8).

Thomas is expected to devote much of 2008 to making his next solo album, but plans are in the works for matchbox twenty to tour at the end of next year.

Here is the track list for "Exile on Mainstream":

"How Far We've Come"
