Plain White T's Finally Unseats Rihanna On Hot 100

Comments

Plain White T's earn their first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 as "Hey There Delilah" continues its staircase climb, stepping from No. 2. The song has progressed one place each week since it leaped 16-6 in the June 23 issue. In doing so, it unseats Rihanna's "Umbrella" after seven weeks at the top. "Delilah" is also Hollywood Records' first-ever No. 1 on the Hot 100.

With "Umbrella" falling to No. 2, Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" remains at No. 3 for a second week, while Shop Boyz' "Party Like a Rockstar" holds at No. 4. Timbaland's "The Way I Are" featuring Keri Hilson is up 6-5, while T-Pain's "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" featuring Yung Joc slides 5-6.

Hurricane Chris' "A Bay Bay" climbs one notch to a new peak of No. 7, and T-Pain's "Bartender" earns greatest airplay gainer honors with a 10-8 increase. The top 10 is rounded out by Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" (7-9) and Fabolous' "Make Me Better" featuring Ne-Yo (11-10).

The chart's greatest digital gainer is Aly & AJ's "Potential Breakup Song," which soars 48-23. The top debut this week goes to Collipark/Interscope newcomer Soulja Boy's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" at No. 47. The track also enters at No. 43 on the Hot Digital Songs chart with 22,000 downloads.

Fantasia's "When I See U" remains No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a fourth week. Prince debuts there at No. 59 with "Future Baby Mama," his highest entry since 1999.

Big & Rich hold on at the top of Hot Country Songs with "Lost in This Moment" for a second week, while Rascal Flatts jumps 24-19 with their new single, "Take Me There," the chart's greatest airplay gainer in its second week.

On Hot Latin Songs, Enrique Iglesias returns to No. 1 with a three-position climb for "Dimelo," thanks to a 22% audience increase. Last week's chart-topper, Marco Antonio Solis' "Ojala," slides to No. 4.

Linkin Park's "What I've Done" remains a juggernaut on the Modern Rock chart, beginning its 15th week at No. 1 there. Ozzy Osbourne leads Mainstream Rock for a fourth week with "I Don't Wanna Stop."
