Comments

Joss Stone will be among the headliners at the South African leg of the historic concerts on July 7. Joining her are UB40, as well as Benin's Angelique Kidjo (whose new album, "Djin Djin," features a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" with Stone) and Senegal's Baaba Maal.

South Africa will also be represented by the Soweto Gospel Choir, as well as Afro-folk singer and songwriter Vusi Mahlasela, indie pop group the Parlotones, kwaito superstar Zola and R&B singer Danny K.

The South African leg of Live Earth will be staged at the Cradle of Humankind in Maropeng, just outside of Johannesburg. It was also announced that model Naomi Campbell will be speaking from the stage at the event.

As previously reported, Live Earth will also boast performances from Madonna, the Police, Genesis, Dave Matthews Band, Kanye West, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill at a number of venues throughout the world.
