Timberlake Goes Corporate With Own Label

Comments

Justin Timberlake has launched his own label, Tennman Records, which will be a joint venture with Interscope. Timberlake will serve as chairman and CEO of the new company, which will be distributed internationally by Interscope Geffen A&M.

Joining Timberlake in the boardroom will be former Sony BMG Entertainment VP of A&R Ken Komisar, who will serve as president. The first signings to Tennman have yet to be announced.

"We are all excited about the talent we have to offer already on our roster and I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries," Timberlake said in a statement. The artist remains signed to Jive for his own recordings, according to a source.

Since his 2002 solo debut, "Justified," Timberlake has become one of the most successful solo artists in music, racking up a host of No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling out arenas worldwide. Of late, he has also branched out into production and songwriting for other acts, including Reba McEntire and, reportedly, Madonna.
