Trina Brings The 'B*tch' Back On New Album

Comments

On the heels of 2005's "Glamorest Life," which spawned her biggest hit to date, rapper Trina will return Aug. 14 with a new album, "Baddest B*itch II," via Slip-N-Slide/EMI.

"I put 150 percent into this album. I'm stepping my game up like 10 notches," the Miami-bred artist tells Billboard.com. "I have a thousand different emotions and feelings and I show it all in this project. I didn't want to be sad, just happy and high spirited, so people can see Trina really grew up."

For the album, which she depicts as "uptempo, a bit melodic and emotional," she recruited first-rate producers Cool and Dre, Scott Storch, Red Spyder and the Runners, among others. Rick Ross, Trick Daddy and Plies make guest appearances. "I've got a few female features that I can't talk about," she reveals, "but it's going to be great."

The new project's first single is "I'm Single Again," which will be serviced this weekend to U.S. radio outlets. The second is anticipated to be "I Wish I Never Met You."

"Glamorest Life" included "Here We Go" featuring Kelly Rowland, a No. 8 hit on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. The album was issued by Atlantic but Trina says there were no hard feelings when she transitioned to EMI.

"We didn't share the same vision anymore and I just wanted to go out there and do it on my own," she says. "But I love everyone at Atlantic and have no bad blood between me and the label."
