Foo Fighters Expand Second Album For Reissue

Comments

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its sophomore album, "The Colour and the Shape," Foo Fighters will release an expanded edition of the project July 10 via Legacy/RCA.

In addition to the original album on its first disc, the new version will feature covers of Killing Joke's "Requiem," Gary Numan's "Down in the Park" and Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street," plus the B-sides "Drive Me Wild," "Dear Lover" and "The Colour and the Shape."

"The Colour and the Shape" remains arguably the band's most popular album, having spawned the Modern Rock evergreens "Everlong" (No. 3), "My Hero" (No. 6), "Monkey Wrench" (No. 9) and "Walking After You" (No. 12). It was the band's lone studio album to feature drummer William Goldsmith, who was replaced by Taylor Hawkins for the Foos' next effort, 1999's "There Is Nothing Left To Lose."

As previously reported, the band is back in the studio with "Colour" producer Gil Norton for the follow-up to 2005's "Skin and Bones." The Dave Grohl-led group will take a break from recording to play a few shows this summer, including a June 23 opening slot for the Police in Los Angeles and July 7 at Live Earth in London.
