T. Pain Tastes Hot 100 Glory With 'Drank'

Comments

T-Pain's "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" climbs 3-1 on the Billboard Hot 100 to earn the Florida native his first chart-topper there. The cut is the chart's greatest airplay gainer for a seventh straight week, the longest such streak since Beyonce's "Baby Boy" featuring Sean Paul had an equal run in 2003. "Drank" is also No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a third week in a row.

After two weeks atop the Hot 100, Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" slips to No. 2. Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" climbs 4-3, while Timbaland's "Give It to Me" featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake rebounds 5-4. Ne-Yo's "Because of You" drops 2-5 as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's "I Tried" featuring Akon rises 9-6.

Rapper Huey scores his first Hot 100 top 10 hit with "Pop, Lock & Drop It," up 11-7, while Fergie's "Glamorous" featuring Ludacris slides 7-8. Akon's "Don't Matter" is down 8-9, and Pink's "U + Ur Hand" rounds out the top tier by holding at No. 10.

Fall Out Boy's "Thnks Fr the Mmrs" soars 38-24 as the chart's greatest digital gainer, while 50 Cent scores the week's top debut with "Straight to the Bank" at No. 32. The first single from his upcoming album, "Curtis," is the rapper's highest Hot 100 debut as a lead artist.

Also new to the Hot 100 this week are Lifehouse's "First Time" at No. 48, Bobby Valentino's "Anonymous" featuring Timbaland at No. 52, Eve's "Tambourine" at No. 72 and R. Kelly and Usher's "Same Girl" at No. 79. That track is also the greatest airplay gainer on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, where it jumps 17-11.

On Hot Country Songs, Billy Currington's "Good Directions" rises 3-1, scoring the artist his second chart-topper. Last week's No. 1, Sugarland's "Settlin'," falls to No. 2. Meanwhile, Enrique Iglesias leads Hot Latin Songs for a second week with "Dimelo."

There's no stopping Linkin Park's "What I've Done" on Billboard's rock charts, as the song begins a sixth week atop the Modern Rock tally and a third at No. 1 on Mainstream Rock. Interpol's "The Heinrich Maneuver" is the top debut on Modern Rock at No. 29.
