The third U.S. edition of the U.K.'s successful Download Festival will feature such acts as Modest Mouse, Incubus, the Shins and Wolf Parade, among others, beginning Aug. 18 at the Tweeter Center outside Boston.

Along with Boston, this year's Live Nation-produced Download Festival will make stops at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash. (Aug. 25), the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis. (Sept. 1) and the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. (Oct. 6). Additional acts for each date will be announced later this month. Tickets onsales begin in June.

Last year's U.S. edition, which only visited the Tweeter Center and Shoreline Amphitheatre, featured such acts as 311, Dropkick Murphys, G. Love & Special Sauce, Jurassic 5, the Wailers, Pepper, Beck, Coheed & Cambria, Kinky, Wolfmother, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Muse, the Shins and Rogue Wave. The two dates grossed a combined total of $919,262 and saw more than 33,000 in attendance, according to Billboard Boxscore.

Download inaugurated its American edition in 2005 at Shoreline Amphitheatre with a bill featuring the Killers, Modest Mouse, the Arcade Fire, Doves and H.I.M., among others.

At England's Donnington Park, this year's June 8-10 Download Festival features headliners My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park and Iron Maiden. Like the U.K. version of the event, the U.S. edition will offer cutting-edge technology and media experiences.
