"Our only influence was to move forward from where we came from, or at least go somewhere new," group member Josh Dibb tells Billboard.com. "Most of the album is made up of jams we've been playing live already. There are, nonetheless, a few new ones that we've never played live."
Dibbs says this album includes "more brain stabs,"describing the new material as "chiseled" and "shiver-inducing." The title and track listing is set but will not be made public until the manufacturing process is complete.
Animal Collective will hit the road for the last half of May, covering a good portion of the Midwest before wrapping up at New York's South Street Seaport as a part of the annual River to River music series.
