Luscious Jackson Rounds Up Hits, Children's Music

Comments

New York-based rock act Luscious Jackson, which split in 2000, will be back in the spotlight next month thanks to Capitol/EMI's Feb. 20 release of a "Greatest Hits" collection. In addition, three of the group's original members have been collaborating on a planned album of children's music, due sometime this year.

In addition to hits like "Naked Eye," "Deep Shag" and "Ladyfingers," the collection will feature previously unreleased remixes from the Beastie Boys' Mike D ("Why Do I Lie?"), Thievery Corporation ("Nervous Breakdown"), Kut Master Kurt ("Ladyfingers") and Tony Mangurian ("Naked Eye").

Also featured is "Love Is Here" from the soundtrack to "A Life Less Ordinary" and a cover of Serge Gainsbourg's "69 Annee Erotique" for the 1995 benefit album "Ain't Nuthin' But a She Thing."

On the same day, group member Jill Cuniff will release her solo debut, "City Beach," via Streetwise Lullabies/the Militia Group. Cunniff plans to play some shows in the New York area around release date, and is also recording material for Cameron Crowe's 10-inch vinyl LP series via his Vinyl Film label, which has previously released music from Mark Kozelek and Low.

Here is the track list for "Greatest Hits":

"Naked Eye"
"Under Your Skin"
"Citysong"
