Taylor Hicks Unveils 2007 Tour Plans

Comments

As expected, latest "American Idol" champ Taylor Hicks will spend the early part of 2007 on the road in support of his self-titled debut album. The theatre trek begins Feb. 21 in Jacksonville, Fla., and has dates on the books through April 27 in Kansas City, Mo.

As Hicks told Billboard.com earlier this month, the routing fulfills his desire to play in "small, intimate venues and theaters where I feel like my art can evolve and be more close to the people."

Hicks' album debuted last week at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 but drops this week to No. 15. It has sold 500,000 units thus far in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
