Ghostface Unveils 'More Fish' At NYC Event

Comments

Ghostface Killah previewed tracks from his forthcoming Def Jam album "More Fish" yesterday (Nov. 20) for media in New York. As previously reported, the set, due Dec. 12, boasts production by MF Doom, Pete Rock, Madlib and Hi-Tek, as well as guest appearances by Redman and Sheek Louch of the Lox.

The new offering is preceded by the upbeat single "Good." In contrast to Ghostface's previous effort, "Fishscale" -- which bowed at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 in April and has sold 295,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan -- the posse-heavy disc boasts a grittier street sound on songs like "Miguel Sanchez" and "Guns N' Razors," though with much of the same underground production.

Ghostface produced the high-speed "Ghost Is Back" while MF Doom helmed "Cartoonz" and Madlib crafted "Block Rock." Another cut is the Hi-Tek-produced "Josephine," a soulful cut that also appears on "Hi-Teknology Vol. 2."

Also present at the listening was Ghost's Staten Island-based rap group Theodore Unit, which is featured on the album cuts "Miguel Sanchez" and "God 2 God." The crew consists of Trife Da God, Cappadonna, Shawn Wiggs and Ghostface's 17-year-old son Sun God, who guests on the track "Street Opera."

In related news, Ghostface will jump aboard the Rock the Bells tour for a handful of dates in the next month, beginning Nov. 30 in Boston. As previously reported, the trek begins tonight in Washington, D.C., and will feature Raekwon and Redman but not Keith Murray, who has bailed out due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Here is the track list for "More Fish":

"Ghost Is Back"
"Miguel Sanchez"
"Guns N' Razors"
"Outta Town Sh*t"
"Good"
"Street Opera"
"Block Rock"
"Miss Info Celebrity Drama Skit"
