Young Remixes, Shoots Videos For Latest Album

Comments

Neil Young has remixed his 2006 Reprise album "Living With War" and will re-release the set Nov. 7 via iTunes and Dec. 19 via traditional retailers. According to a spokesperson, the new mix more accurately reflects the live-in-studio performances by Young, bassist Rick Rosas and drummer Chad Cromwell, minus the original album's overdubs and backing vocals.

For the physical package, Young has directed videos for every track on the album, which will be included on a bonus DVD. The clips encompass footage from the Iraq war, U.S. anti-war demonstrations and the Al Gore documentary "An Inconvenient Truth."

Four of the videos, "After the Garden," "Families," "Lookin' for a Leader" and "America the Beautiful," will be available from iTunes the same day as the digital version of "Living With War -- Raw."

Next month will also see the first release in Young's long-planned "Archives Performance" series, the CD/DVD "Live at the Fillmore East," taped in 1970 at the New York venue.

As previously reported, Young will be in action this weekend as he hosts the 20th Bridge School Benefit outside San Francisco. Also on the bill are Pearl Jam, Trent Reznor, Brian Wilson, Death Cab For Cutie and Foo Fighters, among others.
